Under Construction

Posted on August 16, 2016

Today our Year 6s created marketable objects out of waste items. The IST component of their unit, ‘Global Citizens’, encouraged students to look beyond themselves and assess how their actions impact others – especially as consumers. For example, we buy and consume milk daily, but then what happens to the carton?

One class focussed on how waste could be used to generate positive outcomes in developing countries. Two students designed contraptions to catch water from leaky taps so that it could be reused. Another group of students designed an eco-friendly plant holder.

There was plenty of innovative ideas being generated in the Junior School today!
