NAPLAN

NAPLAN – is there a more controversial topic in Australian schools?

Everyone has an opinion on it and many have questions about its importance, its effectiveness and whether it’s good or bad.

Our Headmaster, Dr Paul Browning, explains what NAPLAN is (and is not), how St Paul’s School uses the data from the test, and offers advice for parents who are pondering how to think about the test.

St Paul’s is a Pre-Prep to Year 12 Anglican school with a vision to transform educational thinking and practice. We equip young people for an uncertain future by providing an education worth having. You can learn more about our unique educational approach by clicking the button below.

CASE STUDY: POTATO PRODUCE

St Paul’s seeks to offer a truly holistic education – one where students’ academic needs are catered to while also nurturing their character. Our Community Garden is one way that we can facilitate a holistic education for our students.

In Year 5, students who are learning about money and budgeting, weigh and bag freshly dug potatoes from the Community Garden before visiting classrooms to offer the organic produce to staff. This is a great opportunity for students to use mathematics as part of a holistic learning experience.
