Book Week 2025: Adventure Chatterboxes
Book Week is all about celebrating the power of stories, stories that invite us to imagine, question, dream, and discover. This year’s theme, Book an Adventure, highlights the way books act as passports to new worlds and companions on our learning journey.
At school, Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to connect reading with creativity. By giving students playful ways to explore story ideas, we help them see how reading and storytelling are at the heart of imagination and learning.
Wednesday’s Adventure: Story Chatterboxes
On Wednesday, Junior students created their own Adventure Story Chatterboxes. These paper-folded games gave students a chance to mix and match story elements, including scenes, characters, and endings, to invent unique adventures each time the chatterbox was opened.
This hands-on storytelling activity encouraged students to think creatively about how stories are built and how many different directions an adventure can take. It reminded them that books are not just something we read, they’re sparks for our own storytelling.
