The St Paul’s School Senior Leadership Team, in addition to our newly established School Council, embodies a wealth of experience and expertise in education. Comprising seasoned educators and subject matter specialists, they guide students from Pre-Prep to Year 12, ensuring the strategic direction and operational strength of our vibrant School.

At St Paul’s School, our Senior Leadership Team stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing a transformative educational experience—led by experienced professionals who excel in their fields. The School Council, formed to provide governance and strategic oversight, further strengthens this commitment. Made up of leaders with deep ties to our community and expertise across various industries, the Council plays a crucial role in ensuring that our plans and actions align with the overarching vision of the Diocesan Council of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane.

Overall, this governing body will help shape a future-focused school, dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence in all we do.

John O’Sullivan Williams

Principal

John O’Sullivan Williams brings over 25 years of diverse educational experience to St Paul’s School. With a background spanning independent schools across Australia, Japan, and England, he has held key leadership and management roles in wellbeing, teaching and learning, and governance.

John is passionate about education and ensuring that St Paul’s School provides every student with the opportunity to reach their full potential. As the fifth Principal of the School, he is committed to placing student safety and wellbeing at the forefront of all that we do, supported by rigorous teaching and learning and a rich extracurricular programme.

Since commencing his role, John has led significant building projects and rejuvenation works to ensure that learning takes place in outstanding facilities. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in driving the implementation of the strategic and campus masterplans, ensuring that SPS will continue to flourish into the future.

As an Anglican, he is dedicated to fostering a school community where all students, families, and staff feel a deep sense of belonging, are welcomed, and are respected.

KAREN MADDEN, DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

Karen Madden

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

Bringing over 15 years of Senior Leadership experience in education, Karen is an expert in the field of educational leadership.

Working closely with the Principal, Executive, and Senior Leadership Teams, Karen leads across the School, overseeing the educational programmes for students from Pre-Prep to Year 12 and professional development for staff. She plays a significant role in developing, promoting, and resourcing a dynamic and responsive learning community that embraces the challenges of the present and future.

Along with the Senior Leadership Team, Karen drives the St Paul’s School strategic vision and ensures the School remains a learning community where excellence in student learning and wellbeing lie at the centre.

Karen has established partnerships with many of Australia’s leading universities and curriculum authorities. Her completion of her PhD at The University of Queensland, along with the publication of her co-edited book, positions her as a leading voice in educational leadership.

Marianne Connolly

DIRECTOR OF Junior School

Marianne Connolly is the Director of Junior School at St Paul’s School and has over 25 years’ experience in early childhood and primary education. She is committed to student flourishing and helping young people begin their schooling journey as positively as possible.

Marianne provides strategic leadership and oversees the academic, social, and emotional development of students in the early years, ensuring a nurturing and enriching environment.

She enjoys running, early morning boot camps and netball.

Kathleen Power

DIRECTOR OF international education

Kathleen Power is the Director of International Education at St Paul’s School. She oversees the programs offered to our second language learners and provides pastoral and academic support to all international students at St Paul’s School.

With over 30 years’ experience in education across Australia and overseas, Kathleen has a passion for supporting second language learners reach their full potential.

Kathleen enjoys netball, reading and travelling.

Robert Nettleton

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND OPERATIONS

Robert Nettleton is the Director of Business and Operations at St Paul’s School and oversees financial operations, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal sustainability.

Robert provides strategic direction for the School’s administrative functions, facilities, and compliance, working to optimise efficiency and support the School’s mission and strategic objectives.

Robert enjoys Rugby, Formula One and spending time with his family.

JON ANDREWS, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY

Jon Andrews

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY

Jon Andrews has over 25 years of experience as an educator in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Jon has a background in teaching the Humanities and Social Sciences, but also has particular expertise in staff professional development, teacher coaching and feedback, school improvement, and the use of educational research and evidence to develop initiatives to enhance student experience of schooling.

Jon enjoys running, cricket, climbing, science fiction and travel.

ALISON SCOTT, DIRECTOR OF TEACHING AND LEARNING

Alison Scott

DIRECTOR of Teaching and learning

Alison is responsible for the strategic and inspirational leadership of our teaching and learning program from Pre-Prep to Year 12, including oversight of the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), Senior Education and Training (SET)Planning, the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

Alison brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership as a former teacher, Head of Faculty, and University of Queensland (UQ) Principal Learning Designer, with over 20 years’ experience across Humanities, English, Languages, Library and Information Services, and eLearning.

From her work as Head of Humanities to her expansive roles as Head of Innovation and Pedagogy, Alison has shaped curriculum, assessment, and teacher professional learning programs within and across P-12, learning areas and sub-schools.

Erica Trudgian

DIRECTOR of wellbeing

Erica Trudgian is the Director of Wellbeing at St Paul’s School and is responsible for the overall development of school policies and practices relating to student wellbeing, pastoral care and behavioural expectations.

Erica has over fifteen years as an educator specialising in the areas of Mathematics and Science. In addition to her Bachelor of Education, Erica has a Bachelor of Behavioural Science and a Masters in Education-Leadership and Management.

She is a past student of St Paul’s School and enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.

Rev Mark Leam

Chaplain

As the school Chaplain, Rev Mark Leam undertakes a vital ministry of pastoral and spiritual care, prioritising the wellbeing of all members of the School community.

Engaging across various aspects of school life and with students of all ages, they lead worship sessions, embodying the teachings of Jesus Christ and reinforcing the school’s core values of Faith, Learning, and Community.

Mark actively supports the Anglican ethos and traditions, serving as a co-tutor in Boek house and contributing to numerous extracurricular groups and Outreach activities.

Mark enjoys AFL, travelling to his farm and spending time with his grandchildren.

DANIEL O'CONNOR, CHAIR

Daniel O’Connor

CHAIR OF COUNCIL

Daniel brings a wealth of experience in leadership, law, and education governance. He currently serves as Vice President of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and Deputy President of the Industrial Court of Queensland, with a distinguished legal career spanning several decades. Additionally, Daniel is a Senior Vice President of the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA), supporting the advancement of Queensland’s agricultural sector and regional communities.

Daniel has a deep commitment to education and the Anglican tradition. Prior to joining St Paul’s School as Chair, he served as Chair of the School Council at Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie).

In recognition of his service to the law and the Anglican Church of Southern Queensland, Daniel was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2019. Known for his integrity, strategic acumen, and collaborative approach, Daniel is passionate about the role of schools in forming values-driven, future-ready leaders.

ANNA ZILLI

Anna Zilli

Anna is an accomplished Senior Executive with over 20 years of experience in human resources and organisational leadership across government and not-for-profit sectors. She currently serves as Chief People Officer at Anglicare Southern Queensland, where she leads workforce strategy, cultural transformation, and employee engagement for more than 3,500 staff and volunteers.

She has previously held senior roles in the Queensland Government, including with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Transport and Main Roads, where she led major culture, leadership, and capability programs.

BRITTANY MORGAN

Brittany Morgan

A proud past student of St Paul’s School, Brittany graduated in 2013 after an exemplary school career marked by leadership and service. Brittany was House Captain of Tooth, Netball Captain, and a School Prefect in her final year, and represented the School in the Girls 1st Teams for Netball, Volleyball, and Basketball in both 2012 and 2013.

Professionally, Brittany is a Chartered Accountant and Director at DFK Hirn Newey, bringing over a decade of experience in corporate finance, governance, and business advisory. She has remained deeply engaged with the St Paul’s community, serving as President of the Past Students Committee, and previously as Treasurer of the Past Students Committee.

Brittany’s strong connection to the school, combined with her financial acumen and commitment to youth development, will be a tremendous asset to the School Council.

CARLIE GIBLIN

Carlie Giblin

Carlie has a background working for a Queensland Government business unit on major projects as a Senior Contract Administration Officer. Carlie is a current parent at St Paul’s School with a vested interest in its development.

NICKI COLLEDGE

Nicki Colledge

Reverend Canon Nicki Colledge is currently the Area Dean and Rector at St Mark’s in Clayfield. Nicki has a background in teaching and has acquired various qualifications in both Education and Theology over the years. Currently Nicki is a long-standing member of the St Paul’s School Community and is looking forward to continuing to support our School.

Steve Forster

Steve is a seasoned marketer, with extensive knowledge and experience in education marketing. With experience in both the Secondary and Higher Education sectors, Steve has worked on numerous recruitment, brand building and communications campaigns. Steve is also an alumni of St Paul’s School (1991) and has previously worked in the gaming industry.
