For those who may not be aware, the Rugby Sports Draw for this Trimester for Senior TAS (Years 8 to Opens) is on the school website. The link to the page is: http://www.stpauls.qld.edu.au/uploads/documents/Sport/TAS%20Fixtures%202012%20FINAL.pdf. The section you are looking for is Trimester 2 - Blue. The link for the weekly game times is updated each week on the school website. If you go to the bottom of the home page at the left side there is a section called "Sports Draw" and it will show the current week game times. In most cases, the game times for each Year group do not change but it is worth checking, just in case! For Junior TAS (Years 5 to 7) - please find the Draw attached. Also, in case of wet weather, the phone number to call on the morning is: 3261 0140. Another quick way to find out the latest rugby info is to "Like" the St Paul's School Facebook page where rugby updates are often posted. Matthew Flinders Anglican College Trial Games On Tuesday afternoon, 24 April, St Paul's welcomed MFAC Rugby Players from Years 8 to Opens to have trial games against our boys. It was a great afternoon and we would like to thank all the boys, the coaches, the staff, the supporters and the helpers who made the afternoon such a success. Touch Judges Each team, every week of the competition, has to arrange a Touch Judge for their game. St Paul's supply one and the opposing team supply the other. If you have been a touch judge in the past or would like to offer to help your team - please contact your PTC (Parent Team Co-Ordinator) to let them know to roster you on as soon as possible. (See PTC List below) Uniforms on Game Days Just a reminder - all players must wear their school uniform (including blazer and tie for Years 7-12) to the venue - both home and away games. For all teams, apart from the 1st XV, they can change into their sports uniform after the game to travel home, however, the First XV must change back into their school uniform for the post-game speeches. Gala Home Day - Saturday, 12 May 2012 Please mark this date in your diary. There is a lot of planning by the prefect body and RSG to make the Gala Home Day spectacular. We are trying to encourage as many past students as possible to return to the school for this occasion. If you know of any past SPS Rugby Players, can you let them know about 12 May or let Judy know their email addresses. We are trying to establish a Past Rugby Player Database, so any information you can provide would be great. Canteen Roster During home games, we need your help! As the boys have to be there 1 hour prior to the game commencing, we are asking the parents of each Year level to help in the Canteen for that hour. This will enable all parents to watch their child's game instead of having to be in the canteen working. The timing for each Year Level is: Year 8 and 10 - From 8am to 9am Year 9 and 2nd XV - From 9am to 10am First XV - From 10am to 11am We only need a couple of helpers for each home game, so if you can roster this through your PTC - it can be shared around. Please make sure your team has helpers organised for our next home game on 12 May. Our Canteen Co-Ordinators, Kimberley Reed and Noel Paterson will be there to introduce you to the other parents and to show you what needs to be done. It is a lot of fun and you get to meet some new faces as well. Rugby Jersey Washing Your PTC will be arranging a team roster for the jerseys to be taken home and washed after each game. It is then your responsibility to give them to the PTC or Coach at the game the following week. Strapping Some students have been asking about strapping prior to the game. If you would like to bring your own strapping to the game - the sports medic or qualified helpers will be able to apply it. Parent Team Co-Ordinators (PTC) For your reference, the PTC's for each team are: Year 5 - Allan Deacon (email: jaja11@bigpond.net.au) Year 6 - Lisa Jones-Dilger (email: lisakeithcurtis1@bigpond.com) Year 7 - Shane Morgan (email: shane.morgan@bistech.com.au) Year 8 - Gabrielle Douglas (email: stuandgabdouglas@westnet.com.au) Year 9 - Philip Roxburgh (email: p.roxy@bigpond.net.au) Year 10 - Cheryl Williams (email: cheryl.williams@northside.org.au) 2nd XV - to be confirmed - please let us know if you are interested in this role 1st XV - Lee Hall (email: garyleehall@bigpond.com) If you have any questions regarding your Team, please contact your PTC first - or if they are unavailable, our Secretary, Judy Watts on email: judy@eventextras.com.au. Your PTC will be sending information to you on a regular basis. If you are not receiving this, please contact them to ensure they have your correct email address. Rugby Fundraiser - Bramble Bay Cross Country Canteen at St Pauls School - Tuesday, 22 May 2012
To raise funds for Rugby at St Paul's (for all year levels from Junior to Senior School), we have been given the opportunity to run the Canteen at the Bramble Bay Cross Country which is being held at St Paul's on Tuesday, 22 May. We are asking for helpers to work in the canteen during the day - even if you can only spare an hour or two, please let your PTC or Judy know as soon as possible. All funds go to support Rugby at SPS. In 2012 money has been used to cater for the development day, purchase the RSG banner, subsidise training shirts, purchase warm up jerseys for the 1st XV, pay for the JS Development Officer, part fund the Head of Rugby position and support the year 9 rugby tour. RSG General Meeting The next general meeting of the RSG will be held at 6.30pm on Monday, 21 May. Parents of all rugby players from Year 4 to Opens are invited to attend. We hope you can make it.
