NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT WEEK

In 2012 National Career Development Week will be held from Monday, 14 – Sunday, 20 May 2012.

National Forums
One of the great new initiatives for the 2012 campaign is that the National Career Development Week are running six National Forums. Each Forum is designed to inspire students to aspire to get the life they love through understanding and knowledge of their interests, skills, options and opportunities to make a successful transition into an increasingly complex labour market. The program is hosted in each location by Steve Liebmann (Journalist and TV Host) and features three high profile Guest Speakers along with six local young people with inspiring career stories who will be interviewed by Steve.

Aptitude for Engineering Assessment Exam
The Griffith School of Engineering is offering an alternate entry pathway into Bachelor of Engineering or the Bachelor of Engineering Technology for current Year 12 students. This will involve sitting the Aptitude for Engineering Assessment exam on Saturday 22 September 2012.  

Registration opens in April and will close in September.

Prospective students can talk with staff and current students from all faculties, attend course information seminars, see samples of student work and experience campus life with a tour of the campus.

START QUT – Semester 2 applications
Year 12 students are able to apply for START QUT in Semester 2, 2012. Successful completion of one unit may enable them to receive credit and one bonus entry rank should they choose to come to QUT in 2012, but will not give them guaranteed entry.

Students must have a B Grade average with a minimum of a B minus in English, English extension or ESL Learners to be eligible. I f the student does not meet these requirements their application should not be submitted.

Expression of interest forms for Semester 2 will be available online from Tuesday, 1 May. And applications will close on Friday, 1 June.

Applications for 2013
Applications for students wishing to undertake START QUT in 2013 will open in Term 3 and close on 31 October 2012.

ADFA EDUCATION AWARD (application window - 1 May 2012 to 28 February 2013)

The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) Education Award is presented to 120 Year 12 students who are considered the most suitable applicants applied for ADFA annually.

  • The award includes a laptop computer and a certificate.
  • There is no obligation to accept an offer to attend ADFA if you are an award winner.
  • Application only opens to Year 11 students.
