Junior School Pre-prep - Year 6
We have all heard the African proverb – “It takes a village to raise a child.” The St Paul’s Junior School is very much a community with strong relationships built between parents, students and school.
To ensure we develop close relationships that allow us to know and support every child, we have created an open nurturing environment where learning is easily facilitated. We firmly believe that your children’s experiences in their Junior School years prepare them for their entire education. Children of the St Paul’s Junior School learn in a happy, stimulating and safe environment that will shape their future learning capabilities.
Our differentiated program allows us to focus on the students as individuals. We have an innovative approach to teaching and learning that is strongly supported by current research. There is a strong emphasis on developing the whole child; including important academic needs as well as spiritually, physically, socially and emotionally.
Junior School staff is dedicated to providing stimulating and diverse learning experiences for their students. The Director of Teaching and Learning works closely with the Junior School Head of Studies in developing dynamic programs that support our seamless curriculum from P – 12. The curriculum is comprehensive with a strong emphasis on Numeracy and Literacy Skills presented in all Key Learning areas.
Strong values are modelled by our staff and reflected in the way the students behave. Home/School communication is a huge priority and staff act accordingly. A strong feeling of family is apparent and every member of staff works toward developing relationships with all students not just those in their classroom. This allows for more acknowledgement of each student’s capabilities and interests and the ability for these to be developed in supportive encouraging environment.
