International School
Welcome to the St Paul's International School page.
An important aim of education at St Paul’s School is to develop global citizens. Our path towards creating individuals with a global outlook, with knowledge of global issues, concerned for our global environment and with an ability to understand each other with compassion and understanding, starts right on our campus in the diversity of our student population.
St Paul’s International School is one of four sub-schools of St Paul’s School, a long-established P-12 Anglican co-educational day school, situated in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.
Originally established in 1997, St Paul’s International School (SPIS) now provides a number of English language development programs for international students.
For longer term international students seeking to complete their secondary (and even tertiary) education in Australia, our quality intensive English language development High School Preparation Program (ELICOS) prepares students to enter mainstream classes.
For shorter visits, our popular Study Tours for overseas school groups and Vacation Program for individual students and small groups, combine English language study with tourist and holiday activities and give international students an opportunity to experience life with a local family.
Study Abroad and Student Exchange programs have a more serious academic focus, allowing international students to broaden their general educational experience by attending classes at St Paul’s School as part of their school study program from their home country.
Teacher Exchange programs between St Paul’s School and our sister schools in China, Japan and Singapore are an extension of these programs and are also organised through the International School. With the opening of the Centre for Research, Innovation and Future Development at St Paul’s School, SPIS is also planning to organise Teacher Professional Development Programs for international teachers. St Paul’s students and teachers are encouraged to participate in student and teacher exchange programs, spending time living, studying, working, experiencing and learning from other cultures and environments.
St Paul’s International School is also responsible for the provision of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to further support the English language development of international students in the Junior, Middle and Senior schools.
More detailed information about each of these programs is found under separate headings on this website.
