Malcolm Middleton is a qualified architect with more than 25 years’ experience in his field and a master’s degree in urban design. As principal of Malcolm Middleton Architects, Malcolm specialises in management and design of major urban projects.

His extensive experience includes urban master planning for commercial and public projects in the areas of education, tourism and hospitality, and commercial and public projects in Australia, the South Pacific, Asia, New Zealand and China.

His work in south-east Queensland includes the Roma Street Parklands and Somerville House Centenary Master Plan projects in Brisbane, the new University of Queensland campus at Ipswich and the new Airtrain railway stations at Brisbane’s international and domestic airports. He has also recently been involved in numerous major urban renewal projects throughout China in association with other notable Brisbane design practices.

Malcolm has been a member of the Queensland Heritage Council for the past two years and a member of Brisbane’s South Bank Design Advisory Panel for six years until 2002. He co-wrote the best-selling publication, Great Brisbane Walks; is a fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects; and a former Queensland president of the Property Council of Australia.

John is the adjunct professor in town planning at the University of Queensland and chairman of the Queensland Heritage Council. He holds a Bachelor of Surveying, Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Science in Environmental Management.

John’s planning career began in 1974 and includes 11 years as Ipswich City Council’s city planner and 10 years as chairman of Brannock Humphreys. In February, 1998, John formed Brannock & Associates Planning and Environment Consultants.

John is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian Planning Institute and the Environment Institute of Australia. He was president of the inaugural Ipswich Arts Foundation from 1997-1998 and was instrumental in fundraising efforts for the development of Global Arts Link.

A former St Paul’s School student, John became the inaugural president of the St Paul’s School Foundation, which was formed to kick-start fundraising efforts for future School development projects. His town planning practice is involved with master planning of new communities and large-scale development projects.

Robert Copeland is a registered landscape architect with more than 20 years’ experience in the design and management of various landscape and urban design projects including residential, tourism, recreational and urban design.

He has been involved in a broad range of public and private landscape projects throughout Queensland. He was responsible for the implementation of landscape works for major parkland projects including South Bank and Roma Street Parklands.

Rob has provided urban design and landscape input into streetscape improvement and revitalisation projects throughout Brisbane and regional Queensland.

His speciality lies in the development of master plans, urban design concepts and landscape and visual strategies for urban sites.

Robert’s experience extends to several master planning and residential landscape design projects in China, including the China Games Athletes Village, Guangzhou, and Cyber City, Zhong Shau.
